Easy Peek-A-Boo Toddler Activity

I created this fun little activity for my son about two months ago. He loved it so much, so I thought I would share!

It's super easy to make. All you need are: two 12 x 12 pieces of craft paper, some pictures of family members, some scissors, and glue. I chose a piece of craft paper that had a bunch of cute little frames on them since I was putting pictures of people behind them.

First, I cut out about 10 frames on the one 12 x 12 craft paper, but I left the top attached so that it could act as a flap to lift up. After that, I laid the second 12 x12 paper behind the one with the cut out frames, but I didn't glue it together yet. I traced the inside of the frame onto the back sheet, so that I could measure where to put each picture. Next, I cut out the pictures of our family to match the sizes I had traced on the second sheet. I didn't go crazy trying to cut them out perfectly. I just made sure that none of the photos overlapped and I made sure that each person's face could be seen in cut out frame window. I didn't want to cut off anyone, lol. Finally, I glued the photos to the back sheet and then glued the edges of the top sheet to back sheet with the pictures. I also labeled the front of each frame flap with a number. You don't have to do this if you don't want to.

Grey had so much fun lifting the flaps to find everyone. I included a picture of Grey, myself and daddy, both sets of grandparents, and his aunt and two uncles. Oh, and Saydee, our cat. After about a day or two he was able to recognize and find everyone. Now anytime we are with our relatives and I ask, "Where is (insert name of family member)?", he goes right up to them and smiles!

You can create a variety of different peek-a-boo boards with different foods, animals, and other house hold items. This is a great way to teach your toddler new vocabulary. After they understand what the item is, they will have an easier time verbally identifying the items when they see them in everyday life!

Happy Weekend and Many Blessings,
