When I got married, Pinterest wasn't around yet. I still can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing! Now, I see things and I'm like, I should have done this, and I should have done that. Why didn't I think of that? Seriously though, the one thing that I do wish I had done, was the Mr. & Mrs. signs. I see so many different variations of them, so decided I wanted to do one of my own, even though I have been married for five years now, it's not too late, right?
Mr. & Mrs. Placemats
What You Need
1. Cork placemats (I got mine from Target)
2. Black Chalk Paint (I use Waverly Chalk Acrylic Paint in Ink, Matte Finish) & brush
3. Chalk
4. Painters tape
Step by Step
1. Using the painters tape, I taped off a box where I wanted to paint. I left an inch and a half boarder
around that I did not want painted.
2. Next, paint inside the taped box and let dry. I only did one coat.
3. The next part, can be tough if you don't like your handwriting. I wrote the 'Mr. & Mrs.' free
hand. I didn't follow any font, I just scripted the words in my normal handwriting. I just took extra
time in scripting the letters, since they were larger. If you have a font you like you can do what I
did for some of my other projects. See my previous posts on printing out words and rubbing chalk
on the back, so you can trace your words onto the mat.
This project was quick and easy and now I have my 'Mr. & Mrs.' piece that I always wanted!
Many Blessings,
