February Devotional & Weekend Update

Here it is!! Our first month's devotional topic!

I am so excited to start tomorrow and I hope that you will join in with me! All you need is your Bible and this --> packet.  There are 8 different scripture verses to explore. There is no specific timeline to follow. You can do it all in one week or spread it out over the month. I am going to do 2 verses a week and really study them. I left a spot for cross referencing, other versions of the verse,  and take away. Take away is for what God speaks to your heart after you have explored each verse! I also included 'The Story' section, which is a story from the Bible that really demonstrates our monthly topic.

Please share this with your friends and feel free to comment throughout the month! Make sure to subscribe --> here as well, so that you can get the free art print sent to you every month.

Weekend Update

And now for our weekly truth and Pinterest Project.

4. Winter Wreath  This is where I got my inspiration for my wreath, although mine is a lot different. I knew that I wanted real pine and pine cones with a bow somehow arranged on there. I had the real oak ring for over 2 months now. I just didn't know where I wanted to use it! I thought our last name initial would add just the right touch.

Looking Forward To This Year

So it's been almost a month in 2016, and I am pretty sure I am good with my goals and bucket list for this year. My motto which I talked about before, back in December, is to be present in all things! So far so good. I have been enjoying every minute of 2016 and I can't wait for what's to come.

I wanted to share with you my bucket list for this year. It's kind of the new concept going around these days. Instead of making resolutions, you set goals and create bucket lists for each season or year! I really like idea, because it allows for flexibility. We all know this thing called reality and sometimes our plans just don't match up. With goals and bucket lists, you can just carry over whatever you don't get to. There are no disappointments or let downs. Just do what you can!

My top goals for this year are......

+ complete list of house projects/renovations
+ pay off our credit card debt
+ watch what I eat and try to stay active/work out 3 times a week
+ finish my Ebook

My goals take priority over my bucket list, because they carry more weight in terms of meeting them. I accept that I may not accomplish all of them this year, but I am totally ok with that, as long as I am working towards them.

My bucket list contains more of the fun stuff that I would like to do for myself and with my family and friends.

Check out this post --> Praying for Others, for your free prayer calendar

What are your goals for this year? What would you put on your bucket list? Feel free to share!

Many Blessings,

Weekend Update

Hey everybody! I hope everyone is staying safe during this blizzard!! We are definitely enjoying the snow now, but I know it won't be fun when I have to dig out my car for work tomorrow!

I am here to bring you our weekly truth and completed Pinterest Project for this week. If you don't know about my year of Pinterest Projects, be sure to check out the post here for all the details.

This weeks project was to create a terrarium. Here is how it turned out. It ended up on my bookshelf in our front room. I put a feather and half opened chestnut in there. Here is the link to the post on Pinterest if you are interested in creating one for yourself!

....3. Glass terrarium

These date night cards were the first project I did in the beginning of January. There are some really fun date ideas in the deck. My goal is try and do one date a week.

Be safe and have fun shoveling!

Many Blessings,

Explore My Heart

As I sit here typing this post, there is a blizzard happening right outside my window. I would say we have about a foot and a half of snow right now and it is still coming down pretty hard. It looks so pretty right now. All the streets and trees are covered with a thick white blanket of snow.

My little one is napping from a long morning of playing outside and I, well, I get to share with you something that I have been working on for awhile now. I am so happy that it has finally come together and I am able to share it with you.

It is a monthly devotional focusing on a new topic every month. A few days before the beginning of every month, I will post the topic handout for you to download. Each topic has several verses for you to explore every month and memorize. Explore what God has to say about each one of these topics. Learn that these emotions we have are real but God provides us with ways of dealing with these emotions. Take time to explore your heart when it comes to each different topic area. There is no right or wrong way to study each topic. Just read the scriptures and see where He leads you!

In addition to these devotionals every month, I will be creating an art print that ties in with our topic for each month. It will be sent directly to your inbox, so make sure that you have subscribed --> here to my blog in order to receive them. I really hope that you will follow along with me as I Explore My Heart.

Check back next week, on Saturday, for our first topic on Love & Compassion.

Many Blessings,

Praying for Others

I consider prayer as one of the greatest gifts that we can give and receive. I appreciate any prayers I can get from friends, family, even from others who I don't know that well. It is so comforting to know, that when I am struggling, others are taking the time to pray for me.

That is why I feel so strongly about praying for others. Sometimes the best thing that you can do for others is pray for them. Especially when they may be struggling and there is nothing else that you can do for them. I feel that I am pretty good at praying for others when they come to me and ask. I usually pray right then and there with them or to myself after we finish our conversation. Otherwise, things come up, my day goes on, and I'm left disappointed because I told them I would pray and then forgot to. It's called prayer on the spot. It's a great practice that I am glad I got into.

I do however, have trouble praying for everyone each day. I have a lot of family and friends and if I am being honest, I don't pray for them like I should on a daily basis. I want to change this though! I created a monthly prayer calendar, so that everyday I can pray for someone different. I know that this only ends up being once a month, but for now that's ok. I would rather pray for my family and friends consistently every month, then forget to do it at all, everyday! I will still continue to pray for others when they come to me with requests, but this calendar is for ongoing prayers such as health, safety, blessings, and so on.

Feel free to download this --> calendar (click on the word) for yourself and fill it in with your family and friends. This is the greatest gift that you can give them, even if they don't know that you are doing it!

Many Blessings,
